Unfamiliar Dorm

A Downright Unserious Poem

Tap, Tap, Tap
5am on the clock
Footsteps close to the one we knew yet different
It didn’t feel familiar at first
It was too soft to be the one we always knew

Squeak squeak squeak
The echoes of a voice of concern filled the room at 8am
As we had a whiff of the dishsoap meeting the plate
A calm voice calling through the hall
It was too soft to be the one we always knew

Piss piss piss
8:30am on the clock, the loquacious one broke the silence
With whispering she asked, “You think she met a HIM?”
The eye rolls reached the back of our sockets
No wonder the dorm was unfamilliar
It was too soft to be the one we always knew

Side note: This poem was written in a few minutes and it has been years since I wrote one. Maybe I was aspiring to be Shakespeare or my literature lecturer. But, I hope you like this one and that it is a bit nostalgic for you. 😊😊😊
